Installing your eSIM

Do this on wifi before you fly. Installing needs a data connection, and the airport you land in is the one place you will not have one.

Install once — deleting it destroys the plan

An eSIM profile can be installed one time only. If you delete it from your phone, reset the device or erase all content, the plan is permanently lost — we cannot reissue it and it cannot be refunded. Running out of data is not a broken eSIM; deleting it will not fix anything and will destroy it. Write to us first.

Which phone are you installing on?

There is no single Android path. Samsung puts eSIM entry under Connections › SIM manager while stock Android uses Network & internet › SIMs — a generic instruction sends most Android owners to a screen that does not exist on their phone.

Two ways in, and the second is not a fallback

Scan the QR code

Open the delivery email on a second screen — a laptop, or another phone — and scan it with the phone you are travelling with.

A phone cannot scan a code displayed on itself. This is the single most common reason a QR “does not work”.

Or type it in by hand

Every eSIM can also be installed with two values from your delivery email and from My eSIMs. They are case-sensitive.

Shown here as an example — yours are in your delivery email. Some phones ask for one value instead of two: that is the full LPA string, LPA:1$server$code.

What it looks like when it is done

Both lines present, your usual number still taking calls and texts, and Ahoray carrying the data.

Turn the line on

A profile can finish downloading with its line switched off, and a line that is off looks exactly like an eSIM that never installed. This is the step people miss.

    If you did not name it, iOS labels it Travel — Ahoray, Secondary or Business.

    iOS will not let you do this during a phone call. Hang up first — otherwise the toggle simply does nothing.

    Samsung: Connections › SIM manager. Pixel and stock Android: Network & internet › SIMs. It is usually named after the plan, or Travel — Ahoray.

    Left on, the phone quietly falls back to your home SIM when the travel line is briefly weak — and that is a roaming bill from your own carrier, which is the one thing this product exists to avoid.

    Check the APN if nothing connects

    It should be internet. Most phones fill this in themselves; a few do not, and it is the one setting worth checking before writing to us.

Before you travel it will say No Service. That is correct.

A Turkey plan has no Turkish network to find in New York. The line is on, the plan is paid for, and the phone says No Service — every part of that reads like a fault and none of it is one. It connects when you land.

Not at purchase. Installing early costs you nothing at all.

Keep your usual SIM in place

For calls and texts. Set Ahoray as the line for mobile data.

Turn on data roaming

Normal for a travel eSIM, and it costs nothing extra — the plan is already paid for.
