Validity starts the first time the eSIM connects to a network abroad, not when it is bought, so it can be installed at home days before departure without spending any of the 180 days. Tethering and personal hotspot are permitted.
Traffic on this plan exits in FR/NL/UK, so websites and apps see one of those countries rather than Slovakia. This occasionally matters for banking apps and streaming catalogues, and it is stated here rather than discovered later.
Delivery is immediate and by email: a QR code and step-by-step instructions for the specific phone, usually within a minute of payment.
